Moving to Belgium from Spain

Wisse Moving organises complete moves from anywhere in Spain to Belgium. We collect your belongings from your home in Spain and deliver them to your new home in Belgium, door to door. If you need it, we also pack your things, dismantle and reassemble your furniture, and help with parking permits.

We are a family business with Dutch and Spanish roots, specialised in international moves since 2009, and members of IAM (International Association of Movers). We speak Dutch, English and Spanish, which makes a real difference when you’re moving to Flanders or Brussels.

Your quote for moving to Belgium

Every quote is based on your own move. For complete household moves we usually do a virtual survey by video call: you show us your furniture and belongings, and with our experience in estimating volumes we prepare a personalised proposal.

During the call you can ask any questions you have. We also look at which items need special packing, check the access at both addresses to see whether an external lift is needed, and see whether a parking permit will be required and who will arrange it.

Our service is designed for complete moves or larger volumes, for clients who want a move that is well looked after rather than the lowest price. We don’t ship single items such as a few boxes or a bicycle: for that, a parcel service will work out cheaper.

Groupage or direct transport

For moves from Spain to Belgium we offer two options. With groupage, your belongings share a truck with other moves on our regular routes between Spain and Belgium. It’s the most economical option. We agree the collection date with you; the delivery date depends on the route, and we coordinate it with you to fit your plans as far as possible.

With direct transport, your belongings travel in a vehicle just for you, straight from your old home to your new one, with agreed collection and delivery dates. It’s the best choice if your dates are tight or you have a large volume.

Packing Service
Packing Service

Packing service

Some clients prefer our basic option: they pack their own boxes and dismantle and reassemble their own furniture. This is usually the most economical choice if you have the time. Even then, our team wraps all your furniture in moving blankets, so it is well protected on the way to Belgium.

If you’re short on time, we take care of everything. On moving day you only need to open the door and show our team what goes and what stays. We bring all the materials, pack your belongings, dismantle the furniture that needs it, protect every piece and reassemble everything in your new home. If you like, we can also unpack your boxes.

We adapt the packing to each item. Fragile pieces such as paintings, statues or large TVs get reinforced cardboard and extra protection as needed. For very valuable or delicate items, we can also make a made-to-measure wooden crate in specific cases.

Storage in Spain

If you need to leave your home in Spain before you can move into your new place in Belgium, we can keep your belongings in our storage facilities in Barcelona, Madrid, Málaga, Valencia, Bilbao, Alicante, Granada and other cities in Spain, and deliver them to Belgium when you’re ready.

Parking permits and external lifts

In many Belgian cities parking is limited or strictly regulated, and you usually need to reserve space in the street for the truck. Depending on the location, we apply for the permit ourselves or, if it’s quicker and simpler, explain how you can request it from your town hall or commune. If the access requires it, we also arrange an external lift or crane.

Transport insurance

We look after your move carefully: furniture is protected, boxes are packed with care and the truck is loaded and unloaded properly. Even so, there is always a small risk during transport, such as a traffic accident, an incident while loading or unloading, or even theft. That’s why we offer transport insurance, for your peace of mind.

The insurance is based on the value you declare, and to prepare the valuation of your belongings we give you access to our own app, made to measure so it’s easy to use. You’ll receive all the details together with your quote.

Moving to Brussels

Many of our clients in Brussels work for the European Union. We know what they need: a clear, detailed proposal from the start, formal invoices that meet administrative requirements, and a move that goes as planned.

Brussels is made up of 19 communes, and each has its own procedure for reserving parking for a move. We tell you in good time what’s needed in yours and, depending on the case, we apply for it or explain how to do it. Many older buildings have narrow staircases, so moves are often done with an external lift; we check this before preparing your quote, so there are no surprises.

Moving to Flanders

Most of our moves to Belgium go to Flanders and Brussels. Because we speak Dutch and have trusted moving crews in Flanders, coordinating the delivery is straightforward: with you, with the building manager and, when needed, with the town hall.

Moving to Antwerp

In Antwerp, especially in the city centre, many houses are narrow and tall, and furniture is often taken up with an external lift (verhuislift). Space for the truck has to be reserved in the street in advance. We take this into account from the start, so everything is ready on delivery day.

Moving to Ghent

Ghent has a historic centre with many pedestrian areas and a low emission zone, which limits which vehicles can enter and when. We check this beforehand and, if necessary, deliver with a smaller vehicle.

Moving to Bruges

In Bruges, the historic centre has narrow cobbled streets and access for large trucks is restricted. We plan the delivery around these restrictions, transferring to a smaller vehicle when needed.

Moving to Spain from Belgium

We also handle moves the other way, from Belgium to anywhere in Spain, including Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Málaga. The process is the same: for complete moves we usually start with a video call, and then prepare a detailed quote with no obligation.

Frequently asked questions about moving to Belgium

The price depends mainly on the volume of your belongings (in m³), the cities of origin and destination, whether you choose groupage or direct transport, and the services you need: packing, dismantling and reassembling furniture, an external lift or storage. Access at both addresses also plays a role. That’s why we don’t work with fixed rates: we prepare each quote for your specific move, with all costs itemised from the start and no surprises later.

Collection from your home in Spain, transport and delivery to your new home in Belgium, with loading and unloading done by our team. Depending on what you need, it can also include packing, dismantling and reassembling furniture, an external lift, storage and transport insurance.
